How to Care for Your Warming & Calming Liquid Muscle Rollers
Things to take Note of
- Shake gently before each use — this ensures the extracts and essential oils are evenly distributed in the finished product.
- Patch test first: Apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait 15–30 minutes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
- For both the Warming and Calming versions, the average shelf life is 12 to 18 months, assuming:
- Stored in amber glass roller bottles (UV protection ✅)
- Kept in a cool, dark place (below 75°F / 24°C)
- Ingredients are fresh and high-quality at the time of blending
- If the extracts or essential oils were purchased within 6 months of blending and stored correctly, the product will easily last closer to the 18-month mark.
- Do not refrigerate; temperature fluctuations may affect consistency.
- Roll directly onto sore or tight muscles — such as neck, shoulders, back, or calves. Massage gently into the skin until absorbed.
- Use the Warming blend before activity or on chilly days; use the Calming blend after exertion or before bed.
⚠️ Precautions
- Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or broken skin.
- Not for internal use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not use warming blend during pregnancy or on sensitive skin.

🌶️ Warming Liquid Muscle Roller🌶️

Whether you’re a gardener, an athlete, or simply someone who carries the world in their shoulders, these little rollers are like tiny bottles of relief — crafted with love, science, and soul.
Recipe
- 1.5 ml Cayenne Extract
- 1.5 ml Calendula Extract
- 3 ml Witch Hazel Extract
- 3.5 ml Spilanthes Extract
- 0.5 ml Muscle Aid (by Plant Therapy®)
- you will need one 10 ml glass roller.
Just add all the ingredients into the 10 ml roller. Make sure to label and date the roller, as it could become a mystery if not labeled. Shake well before use.
For the Warming Liquid Muscle Roller
- Apply directly to areas of tension — such as the neck, shoulders, back, or knees.
- Massage in with your fingertips for 30–60 seconds to encourage absorption and stimulate circulation.
- Use before activity (workouts, gardening, or long days on your feet) to loosen stiffness and promote blood flow.
- Reapply as needed, up to 3 times daily. Avoid applying heat pads over the area to prevent excessive warmth.
💡 Tip: A small amount goes a long way. You should feel a gentle, warming tingle within minutes.
🌿 Therapeutic Benefits 🌿
- Cayenne (Capsicum annuum): Rich in capsaicin, cayenne increases local circulation and produces a gentle heat that encourages blood flow, reduces stiffness, and helps flush out lactic acid.
- Spilanthes (Spilanthes acmella): Known as the “toothache plant,” its spilanthol content offers mild numbing and analgesic effects, helping calm muscular or nerve-related discomfort.
- Calendula (Calendula officinalis): A soothing anti-inflammatory that promotes tissue recovery and supports skin integrity.
- Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana): Acts as an astringent and anti-inflammatory, tightening tissues and easing swelling.
- Muscle Aid (Plant Therapy Blend): A synergistic mix of wintergreen, camphor, and other essential oils designed to support muscular relief.
When to Use
Use before or after strenuous activity, during cold weather when stiffness sets in, or any time you need to stimulate circulation and relieve deep-seated aches. Perfect for lower backs, shoulders, knees, or forearms.

Why Ingredient Quality Matters
Herbal potency depends on source integrity. Extracts should come from organically grown or wildcrafted herbs, prepared in appropriate menstruums to preserve their active constituents.
- Cayenne and turmeric must be vibrant in color and potency, not oxidized or dull.
- Calendula should be rich golden orange, indicating high triterpenoid and flavonoid content.
- Witch hazel should be alcohol-extracted for therapeutic use (not the drugstore kind with additives).
- Essential oils and blends should be GC/MS-tested for purity — like Plant Therapy’s certified products.
When your ingredients are pure, your results are consistent — and your skin feels the difference.
⚠️ Contraindications & Safety Notes
While natural, these blends are concentrated plant extracts, so use with care.
- Cayenne & Black Pepper: Avoid on broken skin or mucous membranes. May cause irritation in sensitive individuals. Patch test before widespread use.
- Pregnancy & Nursing: Avoid the warming blend due to cayenne and strong circulatory stimulants.
- Children under 10: Use only the calming version in diluted form (halve the potency).
- Allergies: Those allergic to members of the Asteraceae family (like calendula) should omit calendula.
- Anticoagulant medications: Turmeric and black pepper may interact — consult a healthcare provider.
- Topical sensitivity: Witch hazel may be drying for very sensitive or eczema-prone skin.
Always shake before each use, apply to clean skin, and store in a cool, dark place.
Signs of Degradation
Replace the blend if you notice:
- A change in scent (rancid, musty, or “flat”)
- Separation that doesn’t resolve with shaking
- Loss of potency — weaker warming or calming sensation
Shelf Life Extension Tips
✅ Always use amber or cobalt glass bottles with roller tops that seal tightly.
✅ Store away from direct sunlight and temperature swings (avoid bathroom storage).
✅ You may add Vitamin E (tocopherol) at 0.5–1% to slow oxidation of essential oils.
✅ Label your rollers with a “crafted on” date for tracking.
REMEMBER:
True relief doesn’t have to come from a lab. Nature has always offered solutions for pain and tension — we just have to know how to use them wisely. These rollers are a beautiful reminder that healing can be simple, portable, and deeply personal.
“Every plant carries a purpose — we just have to listen.”
